“Some things are best kept safe.”
Cyrus Borg

The Golden Armor is a suit of armor made from the melted down Golden Weapons. It resembles a ribcage with a distinct set of shoulder pads. After the Ninja destroyed Lord Garmadon's Mega Weapon with the Golden Weapons, the weapons were launched into space, and landed on a comet known as Delta V. The Overlord sent Cryptor and the Nindroids to retrieve the weapons, bringing them back to Ninjago where they were melted down and redesigned into a suit of armor, transforming the Overlord into the legendary Golden Master.

The Golden Master attacked Ninjago City while wearing the Golden Armor, using his destructive powers to wreak havoc on everything around him. The Ninja confronted the Golden Master at Borg Tower but were incapacitated, prompting Zane to sacrifice himself in a final effort to destroy the Golden Master, which he succeeded in doing. While the Overlord was vanquished, Zane was seemingly lost in the process.

Some time after the Golden Master's defeat, Cyrus Borg retrieved the armor and hid it in a secret location.

The Titanium Ninja

After the Nindroids returned with the Golden Weapons, they melted them down into the Golden Armor, which The Overlord then wore, becoming the Golden Master.

The Invitation

After The Overlord was destroyed, Cyrus Borg set up a training course to test the security system guarding the armor. Lloyd Garmadon was the only Ninja who took part in the test. Once he finished it, he had to try and obtain a holographic replica of the Golden Armor. When he failed to obtain it, he asked Cyrus Borg where the real one was. Cyrus Borg simply stated "Some things are best kept safe."

Season 4: The Tournament of Elements

  • The Golden Armor is the remains of the Golden Weapons.
  • The Golden Master's Mech acts like an embodying object while the Golden Armor acts like an empowering object. The Overlord uses both, even though the Golden Master's Mech still probably gives him some power.
  • The Golden Armor is presumably hidden in the Hiroshi Labyrinth Stronghold, as it is a likely place for Borg to hide it; given that he stored the Realm Crystal there.
