“Hey, you can't lay a hand on me! I'm faster than fast, swifter than swift!”

Speed is an element in Ninjago. It is generally associated with the colors white and crimson and corresponds with the Elemental Speed Dragon.

Users' abilities[]

  • Superhuman Speed - This allows the user to move at extreme speed. It also allows the user's attacks to be quicker and enables them to run fast for a long time and escape from enemy attacks. It is possible for some users to gain strength from their speed and vice versa, become durable when moving, recover faster, launch multiple strikes repeatedly, process their thoughts quickly, move so fast it looked like they had teleported, or dash with incredible strides.
    • Extreme Force Generation - The user can generate great amounts of physical force (like kinetic energy or friction) with many uses, such as running up on walls and water.
    • Superhuman Leaping - The user can use their super-speed to jump higher. For example, Turner used his Speed to leap higher during his fight with Gravis. It is possible that this ability can be used to do a double jump and a jump kick.
    • Superhuman Agility - This ability increases the agility of the user. One example is in "The Invitation" when Turner ran rapidly around Chen's ferry while jumping over and dodging obstacles.
    • Superhuman Dexterity - The user can perfectly control their limbs when running at super-speed.
    • Tribokinesis - Some users can possibly manipulate their friction when running at super-speed.
    • Speed Physiology - The user's body is suited for movement at immense speeds.
    • Speed Cutting - The user can possibly use speed to cut through anything.
    • Accelerated Perception - The user can see the world as if it were moving in slow-motion. This enhances the reflexes of the user.
      • Slow-Motion - The user can move so fast that everything else appears to slow down or stop while the user moves normally.
    • Environmental Adaptation/Perception - Some users can possibly adapt to and perceive the environment they run in.
    • Acceleration - The user can accelerate themselves at high speed.
    • Vortex Creation - The user can possibly create vortexes by running fast in a large circle.
    • Superhuman Reflexes - Technically just Accelerated Perception, this power naturally comes as the world is moving so slow reflexes are now at superhuman levels.
      • Reflex Enhancement - Some users can possible increase their reflexes with their super-speed.
    • Superhuman Endurance/Stamina - Some users of Speed can move at super-speed for longer periods of time without tiring out.
    • Speed Strike - The user is able to use striking skills with high power due to high speed, meaning that they can punch, kick, cut, piece, smash, etc. at high speed effectively.
    • Dragon Creation - The user can create a Speed Dragon.
    • Speed Enhancement/Supernatural Speed - The user can possibly increase their speed to the point of surpassing the natural limitations of speed.
    • Speed Reduction - Some users can possibly reduce their speed to move at a slower pace.

Trivia[]

  • When the user uses the power of Speed, they leave behind a blurred trail of their colors in their wake. In Griffin's case, his blur is mostly red and white. In Skylor's case, her blur is mostly yellowish-orange and dark red.
  • According to Tommy Andreasen, Griffin is not as fast as the Flash from DC Comics.[2] As such, this power most likely does not allow him to travel through time.[3]
  • Regarding what Turner's Spinjitzu Burst could be, Tommy Andreasen joked that he "would need to be at the Daytona 500?"[4]
