Vengestone is a substance that can disable Elemental Powers, making an effective containment measure against Elemental Masters, ghosts, and dragons.
History[]
Prior to the series[]
At some point in time, Vengestone came into existence, having the ability to cancel out the powers of an Elemental Master, as well as ghosts. It seems to originate from the Realm of Oni and Dragons as the Dragon Hunters use it to hunt the dragons.
Rise of the Snakes[]
All of Nothing[]
When the Serpentine trapped Master Wu, the ninja, and Nya inside a cage made of Vengestone, Kai suggested they escape using their elemental powers, but Wu informed him that it's no use, since the rock wards off their elemental powers.
Tournament of Elements[]
Spellbound[]
After loading up the defeated Elemental Masters, minus Lloyd, Chen threw them in a cage made of Vengestone to prevent their escape.
The Forgotten Element[]
The captive Elemental Masters cuffed in Vengestone shackles are brought before Chen.
After their capture, each Elemental Masters were placed in chains made of Vengestone as Chen used his Staff of Elements to steal their powers. Later on, after easily defeating Lloyd, Chen had the Green Ninja placed in Vengestone chains before stealing his elemental power.
Very soon, Kai stole Chen's staff and destroyed the chains binding Lloyd with the powers of the staff.
The Day of the Dragon[]
Kapau and Chope used a net made of Vengestone to trap Kai and Skylor. They would then be brought to the Crystal Caves on the island, where the ritual to become Anacondrai would commence.

Ronin attempted to trap the ninja in a net made of Vengestone but fails.
Skybound[]
Public Enemy Number One[]
While pursuing Jay on the roller coaster, Ronin attempted to capture him by using a Vengestone net but missed.
Enkrypted[]
After Lloyd tries to break the handcuffs, Noble mentions that they are made of Vengestone and can also stop Cole's ghost abilities.
My Dinner With Nadakhan[]
In order to prevent Jay from escaping, the Sky Pirates use a ball and chain made of Vengestone.
Wishmasters[]
After Lloyd and Cole were both trapped with a Vengestone ball and chain as well, Cole used his first wish from Nadakhan to make Vengestone strengthen their powers instead of canceling them. This worked, but the Vengestone restraints caused their powers to grow too much and become uncontrollable. Lloyd countered this by breaking their chains, freeing them.

Cole, captured by the Sons of Garmadon, was placed in a cage made of Vengestone within the Sons of Garmadon's headquarters. He attempted to break through the cage with his Earth Punch, but he was unable to.
Hunted[]
Firstbourne[]
The Dragon Hunters used Vengestone chains to capture Zane, Jay, and Kai. The trio are placed in shackles that appear to be Vengestone as they are brought into Iron Baron's throne room blindfolded.
Iron & Stone[]
The ninja continue to remain bound in shackles that seem to be Vengestone as they are interrogated by the Dragon Hunters before being dragged through Dead's End to the Pit.
Radio Free Ninjago[]
The Dragon Hunters attempted to use Vengestone chains to capture Cole, Jay, and Kai but ultimately failed. However, Heavy Metal was able to capture the ninja using the chains.
After Hunted[]
Harumi was tasked by the Overlord to gather Vengestone to create an army that would be immune to Elemental Powers. Although she had difficulty finding it at first, Harumi learned about the mines within Shintaro Mountain. Since then, Harumi paid Vangelis for the Vengestone that were mined by the Geckles and Mince.[1]

Vangelis had the ninja locked in a cage made of Vengestone. However, they were freed by Plundar. The large quantity of Vengestone present in the Skull Keep prevented the ninja from using their powers in the ensuing battle against Vangelis and the Re-Awakened.

Believing that Christofern was destroyed, Garmadon used his Oni Form to attack the Crystal Warriors, destroying them with his Destruction. As Wu saw this, he realized that the power of the Oni can surpass Vengestone, and told Lloyd that he needed to unlock his Oni side to defeat the Vengestone army.

Dragon Form[]
During the final battle, the Crystal Warriors used their Vengestone capabilities to block the ninja's powers as they got cornered them. But when the ninja's allies arrived, the ninja were able to unlock Dragon Form, using it to destroy the Vengestone Guards, and thus destroying all the Vengestone that Harumi collected since the Liberation of Ninjago.

Abilities[]
- Power negation - It stops the powers of those who are chained to it. If he or she is freed, they can use their elemental powers again even ghost or magical powers.
- Power augmentation (in an alternate timeline) - Cole made a wish for it to upgrade the Elemental Masters' powers and it made them stronger or more enhanced, but as a side effect, it made their powers uncontrollable. This ability was erased due to Jay's final wish.

Appearance[]
Vengestone looks like regular stone, except it has marks around it with a yellow or orange glow. From Rise of the Snakes to The Hands of Time, Vengestone did not have yellow glows around it, making it harder to recognize. In Sons of Garmadon and Hunted the glows were orange and since Prime Empire, the markings are yellow.

Trivia[]
- It was revealed in Hunted set descriptions that the Dragon Hunters utilized Vengestone weaponry to combat the dragons, thus allowing them to exploit their Elemental Powers for their own purposes.
- Interestingly, Vengestone does not keep dragons from using their powers. Its only effect on the dragons seem to be that it is strong enough to keep them from escaping, or it may weaken their powers.
- Shintaro Mountain contains mines that bears Vengestone.
- Vengestone is similar and seems inspired from Seastone in One Piece, since Seastone can nullify Devil's fruit powers, just like Elemental Powers with Vengestone. Both appear to be rare.
- Although seeing that most of the villains the ninja have fought use Vengestone, it seems pretty common in Ninjago instead of rare.
- It is one of the few materials available in multiple realms.
- According to Tommy Andreasen, Vengestone is "a[n] unhealthy by-product of some cataclysmic event."[2]
- According to Tommy Andreasen, he theorized that Vengestone was most likely formed when the First Spinjitzu Master is trying to get rid of his Oni side and thus created the Overlord, who saturated half of Ninjago.
- Despite the fact that in all other seasons Vengestone is called in the Czech dubbing in the same way as in the original, only in the Czech language, in Season 6 and 7 it is called the "antielemental stone".
- Although Vengestone seems common enough (considering the amount of villains who are in possession of it on such short notice), in "The Skull Sorcerer," King Vangelis claims that he's been selling Vengestone from the mines to Harumi, thus making the availability of the substance quite ambiguous.
- In "A Sinister Shadow," Harumi also claimed that Vengestone is difficult to obtain, and it took her some time to find it before learning about the Vengestone mines.
- In "Farewell the Sea," Wu states that Vengestone's only practical purpose is to negate Elemental Power.
- In 71719 Zane's Mino Creature, the Vengestone armor on Zane's Mino is transparent blue instead of transparent orange.
- According to Tommy Andreasen, Vengestone would "most likely not" block an Oni's power.[3]
